See below for a breakdown of all steps of our Case Management, from Intake to Discharge.
Section 8 Housing for Veterans
Section 8 assists low-income, disabled and homeless veterans with safe, affordable housing through a project-based housing subsidy. In addition, medical and behavioral supportive services, through Belmont Cares, are provided for each family housed through this program. All prospective residents will have the option of furnished or unfurnished housing units. Homes currently provided to our homeless veterans are fully furnished, since many do not have resources necessary for furniture purchases. Visitations and appointments are conducted bi-monthly.
This initiative is designed to address the emergency housing need of families by using support services and resources from trained staff professionals, volunteers and interns in collaboration with organizations throughout the State of New Jersey. This strategic outreach mission offers services to those in need regardless of race, ethnicity or religion.
There are many reasons why families are displaced, some are faced with the loss of a job, inadequate income to support a home, and/or physical, mental disabilities. Also, lack of adequate training, education or abandonment. The goal of this program is to give guidance to consumers as they grow towards self-sufficiency. Belmont Homes provides emergency housing for homeless consumers, including veterans, who are referred by the Burlington County Board of Social Services (BCBSS). Belmont Homes is also active in assisting with victims of domestic violence, substance abuse, and mental/ behavioral concerns. We refer clients to many organizations that deal with these particular concerns as well as those residents who display challenging behaviors. We also partner with the American Job Center located directly across the street from our office located in Westampton, NJ.
Belmont Cares
Currently, Belmont Homes and Special Services offers supportive housing with services which are individualized and customized to the needs of families. Additional support comes in the form of referrals that offer intensive long-term care services which are therapeutic and/ or medical. These specialized services are selected individually. Many of the services can be provided through outpatient services. While Belmont Homes can offer supportive services and case management, continued housing is not contingent on acceptance of these services from our agency.
Family Housing Stabilization Program
This program assists any homeless or at risk of homelessness individuals and households that need assistance with either paying back rent and/or utilities to avoid eviction or that need help paying a security deposit and a few additional months of rent on a new lease.
